Bariatric Support Group

Dr. Hodges - Bariatric Support Group, Charoltte Hodges, MDDr. Hodges strongly encourages patients to attend the monthly virtual bariatric support group meetings. These sessions are led by Dr. Collins Hodges, a licensed clinical psychologist who also brings the unique perspective of having undergone bariatric surgery himself.

Virtual support group meetings are held from 6:30–7:30 p.m. CST. They are open to the public, and there is no cost to attend.

Participants benefit from connecting with others at every stage of the bariatric journey — from those considering surgery to individuals who are years post-operation. The group provides a safe, welcoming environment where members can share experiences, ask questions, and offer encouragement.

Regular attendance can help patients navigate the dietary and lifestyle changes that accompany bariatric surgery. Discussions often include strategies for addressing problematic eating patterns, increasing awareness of emotional eating and food addiction, improving compliance with post-operative guidelines, and understanding the connection between personal relationships and eating behaviors. The group also helps participants identify high-risk situations and develop practical, healthy coping strategies that support long-term success.
